ABOUT
Denver-based DJ, James Compton, began DJing at the age of 13 in Nashville, Tennessee. Honing his skill on vinyl turntables, using worn out records, he performed at house parties, small Hip Hop shows, and underground rap battles as a supporting artist.
By high school graduation, James was touring with a Nashville-based Hip Hop group as a turntablist, but his true interests lay in electronic dance music.
While enrolled at university, James took a break from DJing to focus on academics, but his love for music remained.
After a decade-long hiatus, a trip to Ibiza gave him the inspiration to return to DJing professionally.
Taking influence from early electronic music production from the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, he uses a pastiche of Synthwave, Deep Tech House, and Melodic Techno to take audiences on a captivating journey through new and imaginative soundscapes.
His utilization of a wide range of genres, from Bass House to Indie Dance, and unique resonate layering of selections, allow him to transform any space into a luscious atmosphere full of good vibes.
